By nature, cats of all species do not have particularly emotive faces, preferring to express their feelings primarily through body language and secondly through sound. As such, they often look to be locked into a single facial expression. ( see Grumpy Cat ) As such, while anthropomorphic felines can have faces as or more emotive than human faces, those presented as more realistic run the risk of either looking deadpan or falling into the uncanny valley or both.
