And if you've been subbed to his letsplay channel, you're probably feeling even more conflicting emotions. For the last few years, Jared's had a really awful mentality: he used to blame his audience whenever one of his videos didn't get a lot of views, not taking into consideration factors like the length of the video or his demographic – the fact that his main channel's videos got way more views than his letsplay videos also obviously bothered him. Some of his biggest mistakes were streaming popular games which he hated before playing, like Kingdom Hearts 3 and Deltarune, since they attracted fans of the games, and since he's tedious to watch when he's disinterested in a game. If you watched his streams, it was really obvious at times that he had depression issues and didn't like where he was in life. Despite the fact that a lot of what he was going through was due to his own fault or over-exaggerated problems that other streamers face, I really felt sorry for him, especially since he put a lot of effort into his personality and jokes with his recent videos, and it seemed like he was finally hitting his stride. His issues being his own fault is now more true than ever.
Watching all this play out felt like I just watched an episode of Down the Rabbit Hole with a twist ending, involuntarily. What the hell Jared.

That's easier said than done, because it's not like Jared really played a character. Any review he did was himself. He didn't have a wacky kooky persona that most video game reviewers had. James Rolfe plays a character. Jon Jafari plays a character. Jared plays Jared. You can't separate artist from the art when the art is the artist. It's even worse with the let's plays. Yeah, a persona can distract me from the real deal, but when the real deal is displayed out there, sorry if I can't help thinking, "Yup. This is a guy who cheated on his wife," the whole time.
