To further this point is the example of Metroid Prime 4, where Nintendo felt as though the game was off to a really bad start. So they restarted development of the game and let Retro Studios take the helm again, despite requiring a delay worthy amount of development time. While they could have kept this a secret, they told the fans that it had to be done so the game was good. Not only did the fans understand, they supported the decision. I don't think I need to explain the current situation with Pokemon SwSh.

TL;DR, I agree a delayed game will eventually be good, but honesty will make the fans to trust the developers.
