Fun fact: during the 1990s, Steven Spielberg was planning on directing a film adaptation of Cats and it was going to being animated.

It would have been produced by his animation studio, Amblimation, which produced An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, and Balto. Here's some more info
