A lot of people shit on DragonBall's characters, pacing, constant resurrection and power scaling problems exemplified by OG Broly, but when it gets thingss right, it gets them very much right. Vegeta's character arc, especially leading up to his sacrifice, Broly's empathetic backstory and adorable interactions with his friends, even things like Beerus and Whis's fun personalities and character dynamics all are great to watch. I hope they keep the writing team that created DBS Broly, and I want to see more of them in the future.

Broly is one of those rare "expanded universe" characters that became popular enough to be brought into the mainstream canon, like Harley Quinn or Admiral Thrawn.
