Could be worth noting it also shows a difference in how The Pokemon Company and Nintendo treat the devs that work under them. Pokemon Company wants their annual Pokemon games out ASAP so they can have new merchandise and anime seasons to go with it, Nintendo's like "don't work yourself too hard, just have fun" (with all the controversy about botched games and controversy of developers being crunched by being forced to work too much overtime, Nintendo's made it clear they'll try their best to avoid that stuff, like admitting Prime 4's original team dev just wasn't cutting it so they were going back to Retro, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons got delayed to 2020 because they didn't want to overwork the AC team for the sake of making a fall release date).

I wonder how things would be with Pokemon were it more under Nintendo's direct control (they help with aspects like the funding but it's ultimately TPC who gets the final say in what goes on, I even recall when Nintendo's higher ups said they really had nothing to do with Pokemon GO they actually lost a bit of stock at the time from ignorant stockbrokers who didn't know who really controlled the IP).
