Calling it now, this character is gonna be paraded around for the next couple weeks (months maybe) but when the movie comes out, he'll have a 5 minute scene and then never be seen again in the movie and plays no actual role in the narrative.

It is a she (lesbian), her small role is indeed confirmed and, actually, Twitter hates her for being a cop, so she will either be forgotten even faster than that, or remembered for longer, but for the wrong reasons.
