If you can't build up your new property to be as good as the old property so you have to resort to tear the old property down, then your new thing is shit, no two ways about it.

This is not even for any of the viewers, the fans of the old thing are going to hate the new thing regardless, and the fans of the new thing are not even going to know what this is referencing. Just some auto-fellatio by the showrunners as the post states.

Even TT:GO eventually had the decency of admitting that their version of the shows sucks compared to the "original" (TEEN Titans is a reboot too, hence the quotes) and incorporate that as commentary in a few episodes, so the fact that Thundercats Roar does this instead makes them be officially even worse than that.
