If we're going to be accurate, the bombings had nothing to do with the Nazi's economic policies and everything to do with their military/geo-political ones. I don't support command economies at all, but blaming the war on that is missing the mark a little bit.
Yes, but a large emphasis in Nazi economic planning was a focus on the war economy and subsidizing the arms industry to prepare for large-scale conflict with the rest of Europe. In this way, the Nazis set their own economy up for failure as the Allies and Soviet Union seized Germany's natural resources and engaged in total war to cripple the Nazi war machine. If you base your economy on war and are bad at winning wars, your economy suffers.
