The game starts in Tommys settlement with a flashback, it's pretty chill in the beginning until something happens that drives the story and a group of characters torwards Seattle this is where the militia group and the religious group are, however they turn out to distractions from the real threat and main villain, Abby, the muscular woman from the trailers, she and her group kidnap Joel and Tommy, Ellie finds them and is forced to watch as Joel is brutally murdered by Abby beaten to pulp with a golf stick, it's implied he is shot too but no footage of that atm. The story ultimately leads to a big confrontation between Abby, Ellie, Dina and Lev, Abby almost beats Ellie to death and slits Dinas throat but Ellie mentions Dina is pregnant and Lev appeals to Abbys good nature, Abby ends up leaving Ellie and Dina to die. Months later Dina and Ellie are back at Tommys settlement, Dina has given birth to a boy and wants to be a family with Ellie, but Ellie is still depressed and hellbent on revenge, one night she packs up weapons and puts on Joels jacket plannig to leave in secret to hunt down Abby, she is caught by Dina who begs her to stay saying Abby "doesn't get to be more important" than their family but Ellie says she can't, her need for revenge is far greater than anything else and she walks out as Dina turns away and cries. Then the epilogue starts, Abby and Lev, who has a short haircut now, are in Santa Barbara looking for remaining fireflies, the story ends setting up a sequel with Abby and Lev as protagonists and Ellie as the villain, Joel is buried at Tommys settlement, Ellie, Dina and Jesse (the asian guy from the E3 dance trailer and Dinas ex boyfriend) set out for revenge despite Tommy warning her against it, Ellie has flashbacks of her and a younger Joel throughout the rest of her portion of the game. Ellie kills some of Abbys friends, then Jesse dies as well and Dina reveals she is pregnant. leaving the players to "qustion everything". Halfway through the game you switch characters and you're forced to play as Abby, the woman who killed joel, for the rest of the game, she is accompanied by Lev the bald asian kid with a bow and they basically retcon the story to make you feel bad for her and see Joel and Ellie as villains, apparently the surgeon Joel killed in the first game at the firefly hospital was Abbys father and all the other soldiers were family of Abbys friends.

(Spoilers Discussion) םו Hi, i am just curious and i want to see what you guys think about this but is not the last of us 2 very similar to terminator dark fate? i haven't play the game just yet, and i really enjoy the first one. But what do you guys think about this 2 aren't they similar?? They both start by killing their protagonist. John Connor and Joel. This is the starting point but what others things they have in common? like i said i haven't play it and this is just my opinion but i did not like the way how they implemented his or their death. This does seem more realistic, but I have no idea how the fuck you'd ever get me to want to play as the idiotic fireflies who risk killing their only unique test subject.

So humans are the real monsters again? That game better had a great execution because Abby sounds horrible, and being forced to play as her and hunt the previous game hero while retconning elements to make them seem evil sounds like a recipe for disaster
