HELP!" "How are we doing that?" "YOU KEEP KILLING PEOPLE OF COLOR!" "Well, the statistics.." "RACIST!!" "Alright, so you want a more hands off approach?" "YES!" "You really want a less aggressive stance?" "YES! F--- YOU! GET THE F--- OUT OF OUR COMMUNITY!" "Alright, you asked for it. Let's go. Call us if you need us." **two months later** "THEY'RE KILLING US! WHERE ARE THE POLICE?!?!?" Rinse, repeat. What comes next is the police department(s) being accused of racism for not caring about black communities two months after they get chased out with rocks and bullets. If we funnel more $ to police depts, it strengthens their power & reach AND makes sure that we can't use that $ on anything else! An absurd amount of $ is already spent on policing: in NYC, the police budget this year is $6 *billion*, in LA it's $3 billion, in DC it's >$500 million. That is S0 much $.
