i don't like this argument. people only use it when it's convenient to them, but really, we all have attachments to some fictional characters. after all, if the fact that they're fictional meant they didn't matter, nobody would be able to have an opinion on fiction because it would all be entirely pointless.
we argue over these characters because they matter to us, wether that means you hate abby for killing a particular character and what that means in a meta sense, or you're defending abby because you like the way she's written.
I'm not downplaying the fact that just because they're fictional doesn't mean they don't matter. What I'm saying is a lot of the Naughty Dog purists get up in arms and somehow get it in their heads that just because you dislike this one fictional woman with muscles in a VIDEO GAME, you're a sexist with insecurity issues that hates muscular women in real life.
