Actually, for Sonic, SEGA seems to care more about the detractors than their own freakin' fans. Why do you think besides the avatar why nobody else was playable besides the two Sonics? Why do you think the characters are now caricatures of themselves? Why do you think they're retconning so many years of history with bullshit like "There are two Earths" (despite what the Adventure games and EVEN THE CLASSIC ERA in Japan was telling) or "there was never a Team Dark" (implying that Shadow has no real friends, contradicting so many games, INCLUDING FORCES, at once, and is just pandering to the ones who prefer him as an edgelord)?

It's probably because the only Sonic fan the developers have met is Arin Hanson, who actually doesn't even like Sonic and only got to that status because the Sonic Twitter is a huge Game Grumps fan.
