Gaming - If Classic Games Were Released Today

I'm not sure what the through line here is. That people would complain about a game for stupid reasons? Sure, no matter what that happens, because it's the internet and people are stupid, but most of the time when there's a lot of people complaining about "SJW stuff" there's reason.

Hell, for Mario 2, people would just be upset because they'd immediately know it's a reskin of a different game and the real Mario 2 wasn't brought over. With how shitty localization and games not receiving international ports is an issue with people, of course they'd be angry over that.

Tomb Raider hardly makes sense. Plenty of games these days have female protagonists and don't receive flak. Only when they're obvious bait for feminists or shove it in your face. Lara herself has existed in one form or another throughout every gen since, and there've been no complaints. Even the reboot series, some people just don't like her characterization compared to OG Lara.

Games like Nier: Automata, Bayonetta 1 & 2, A Hat in Time, Portal 1 & 2, Gravity Rush 1 & 2, the Metroid series, the Shantae series, and the Mighty Switch Force series all sure were hated for having female main characters.
