Originally I wanted to use the original civilian sprite from X-Com UFO Defence for the image; but I swear that thing is impossible to find is any form that I can scale up properly.

Because of that, I edited the bio for <a href="https://openxcom.org/forum/index.php?topic=7204.30">Supporter of Dagon</a> from The X-Com Files as it was the next closest thing I could find.

"Dude, there's over 40 Chryssalids on this map, plus the two Advent death squads with Sectopod support."

It makes the Chryssalids their own faction, with numerous sub-species, base attacks and defences and other specific missions based around them.

They also attack the Advent and can join in as a third faction in fights, turning a simple gun fight into a terrifying cluster f---. Especially since the Aliens can also be turned into Chryssalids now.

Goddamn it, rookies.

The Commandy One is not pleased.

So been playing Xcom (or UFO enemy unknown for euro fans) the 94 version on steam, nostalgia all over again, funny thing is I got this in 94 by my dad as a gift...it cost 50 pence!

Still since finding it on steam it had been fun so I played superhuman (no saves of course!) with a speed run so bypassed laser weapons to get to research on more essential items.

Sectoids were tough on terror missions, mutons pain in the ass anyway whilst snakemen I don't mind fighting unless their 'pets' are tagging along.

And the ethereals I A-V-O-I-D

But during all that there was one moment that stood out, it was March and floaters were on a terror mission. I had 8 men, 7 rifles, 1 hand gun and high explosives, so as I went to Tehran like Team America with all guns blazing something bizzare happened.

Nobody died. NOBODY. No I didn't use psi-amp, my troops weren't maxed out with 80% accurate shots, they were average joes against floaters, I know floaters aren't the best by far, but for crying out loud it was turn 13 and nobody was dead, they hobbled about in the air not caring about cover and there was even a reaper that didn't move from its spot in a warehouse even though there was a civilian hanging round the crates like a moron.

So am proud to post my rare achievement in that no civ has died along with art to what I think was the other aliens reaction back at Cydonia.

Thank you Floaters, your incompetence knows no bounds!
