Jumping across the pond briefly before wrapping up are adventures in Celtic folklore to look elsewhere, we come across an unusual variant of the Wood Nymph, the Skogsrå, also known as a Hulder/huldra.

The Skogsrå is an interesting combination of an Elf, a dryad and a minotaur; often having a cow's tail and legs; as well as having a hollow wooden back, or one covered in bark.

They use their good looks and singing to lure men into the woods and get them lost; although they do not tend to be malicious unless they were treated rudely or with disrespect. Those who are kind and respectful to them are treated as such in turn and it is not unheard of for a Skogsrå to marry a human man that they have fallen in love with.

They are also embarrassed by their cow tails and will often try to hide them whilst speaking to humans.
