Technically speaking, the more sexy/playful designs for the ladies came from Origins and Legends. The original games didn't have anything like that, far as I recall. Betilla was pretty different herself too.

Based on that, I suppose Ubisoft or the inevitable defenders of such a change could use this as an excuse. But really, it'd be such a damn shame to change things (especially for the sake of woke crowds) when the newer games created such a perfect style for the series being modernized.
