Mr Hemingway, who was originally from Dublin, joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) as a teenager before World War Two. At 21, he was a fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain, a three-month period when air force personnel defended the skies against a large-scale assault by the German air force, the Luftwaffe. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer paid tribute to Mr Hemingway, saying his courage and those of all RAF pilots had "helped end WWII and secure our freedom".

They were soldiers, I believe not everybody was cruel to the other people. Some of them were really believing that they are building a new world. Some of them were looking for glory. Some of them just wanted to get a revenge for a loss of The First Great War. Some of them were just naive...

But I believe not all of them were monsters like it shown in all these movies.

They were fighting until the end even though everybody realized that the end was near and inevitable. They were fighting for what they believed. Maybe their ideals were wrong but still... I am not defending them - my grand grand father got a medal in a battle against them. And my father said he never wanted to talk about this, he never was proud of it...

I guess he realized that they are also people.

We are not taking a responsibility for what our grandfathers or our leaders have done, but we should remember it. We should try to learn on their mistakes. But what we shouldn't do - is blaming the other people just because they are from that or another country not even trying to get familiar with these people, but just judging them because of their nation.

I'm really happy that DICE showed to us that episode called "Last Tiger". Showing the german soldiers were also heroes in that or another way. Yes, maybe they were believing in wrong ideals or not believing in anything but it doesn't mean we shouldn't know what did they fight for or what were they living for... Besides that there are tons of films about brave Americans who won a war or who suffered disasters in their lifes but not only they were suffering.

You can say: "It's theirs nation's fault that they accepted what their leader was doing" - but don't forget those who didn't accept it. What happened with them? They suddenly disappeared. You can say they could start a revolution but you know it's not working so easy. I don't think you will risk your family in this kind of situation. All I wanted to say - don't judge people just because they from that or another country. If the leader was tyrant - not a whole nation is like that.

It wasn't very effective.

So back in WW2, the Soviets trained and deployed<a href="http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2013/12/anti-tank-dogs-world-war-ii/"> Anti-Tank dogs</a> to fight the German Panzers.

They would train the dogs to find food under tanks, play battle sounds to make them less likely to spook and then strapped a bomb with a instant switch detonator on their backs. The dogs would be starved before battle started and then be unleashed onto the battlefield to cause chaos.

Unfortunately for the Soviets, they used stationary Russian tanks in their training which had different smelling fuel than the German tanks. Because of this, the dogs often got spooked by active German Tanks and the chaos of battle which caused them to either return to their handlers or run to the defending soviet tanks.

It worked well enough for the Soviets and Russians to keep training anti-tank dogs until 1996; but pretty much everyone agreed that blowing up large numbers of dogs for minimal gains was horrible and stupid idea.
