If the translation is wrong, it's bad. No ifs ands or buts about it. If it's done out of incompetence, then you fucked up your job. If it's done out of malice, then you're a shitty person. And she truly sounds like a right and proper cunt.

Garbage like this is why people assume "official" translations are wrong, especially when it's so blatant. Your job is to simply translate what's been said, and form it into a cohesive sentence. Not write in your own drivel, because no one else wants your trash.

It's why localization is so hated. People want as much purity in what's been said as possible. It's why some often accept it when subs are written in broken sentences.

And don't pretend like translating is some taxing job. You're a living Japanese to English dictionary and paid to be so. It's easily the most basic and simple job in the list of people working on anime. Actual fans often translate anime and manga themselves for free, because they want to see their favorite series shown around and do a far better job of it. So shut your mouth and do your job, you bottom of the rung menial cunt.

As a followup to my research on the Nagatoro translation, 奴ら just means an informal, and usually rude way of saying "they." So surprise surprise, it's completely and intentionally wrong. This isn't some creative liberties being taken. This is the translator having a chip on their shoulder and using their job to vent.
