Also, on Twitter pretty much the defense for her is "she's black so of course you don't like her"

Is it true from what I read that she was barely even a character at all? With her mainly getting a bigger role and turned into a romantic false lead just to make Mark's life even more dramatic and painful than it already was in the comic?
