There's lots of comics that don't do this complicated bullshit, but people just seem hell-bent on pretending they don't exist.

I was going to say that independent comics that are not from DC or Marvel don't have this problem… And then I remembered reading Atomic Robo, which despite being a single story with proper continuity, I STILL had to look up in which order to read it because the comics themselves don't make it clear.
