Sonic Colors: Ultimate Glitches - What is this?

I always assumed the glitches were so bad that sonic just swapped models with animations from some kind of alien fish creature that would show up in the amusement park like around the water areas.

But I realized at a closer look it seems to be a horribly, horribly stretched and warped model of sonic
