Sometimes I wonder if this toxic positivity stems from people being sick of the "old good, new bad" mindset that has plagued the Internet for almost 20 years now.

feels like it depends on where you look for these things and personally I see way more hate for new cartoon stuff than old ones. seriously most new cartoon fans can't even begin to explain why they like them without someone else dismissing their take for being "calarts" or something along those lines
