Well, yes. Because slurs are something you hear from the other side of the frontier all the time, business as usual, the rivalries of forever, our rivalries. And even at their worst, at the very least they have the decency to call you subhuman to your face.
Latinx comes from a gringo who never bothered learning fucking anything muscling in and telling you how to speak your tongue while pretending this is how respecting other cultures works to shut you down the moment you complain and you know they're not going to get it.

Understandable, "Latinx" is one of the most condescending terms I'm aware of.
