Guys Will See This And Just Think "Hell Yeah" is a catchphrase used in a series of posts and image macros as a copypasta alongside images of cool or ironically cool subjects that men might enjoy. The meme started on X, formerly Twitter, in late August 2023 and originally features a photo of Wallace Monument in Scotland. It spread over the following weeks to sites including Instagram and Facebook
Origin
On August 17th, 2023, X[1] user @aIIegoricaI posted a photograph of the National Wallace Monument in Scotland along with the caption, "Guys will see this and just think 'hell yeah,'" garnering over 12,000 likes and 2,200 reposts in a month (shown below).
Spread
The meme gained viral spread over the following weeks. On August 20th, 2023, the original version was reposted by Instagram[2] user welcum2middleearf_bitch and Facebook[3] page Tasty Treats and Cheeky Nibbles, garnering over 32,000 likes on the former and 6,100 shares and 9,400 reactions on the latter in a month. On August 22nd, the original was shared by Instagram[4] user grapejuiceboys, garnering over 529,000 likes in three weeks. That day, Instagram[5] user dank.lloyd.wright posted a new version of the meme replacing the image, garnering over 2,000 likes in three weeks (shown below).
On August 24th, Instagram[6] user glowfuckyourself posted an image macro using the phrase over an image of a dog with a banana on its head, garnering over 1,100 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). The image was reposted by Instagram[7] user thebretcrowshow and Facebook[8] page Food In Places It Shouldn’t Be that day, garnering over 7,300 likes and 5,200 shares and 7,600 reactions respectively in that span of time. Later that day, Instagram[9] user boyswhocancook shared a version of the meme that gained over 30,000 likes in three weeks (shown below, right).
On August 28th, Instagram[10] user monkecult_v2 posted a version of the meme featuring an image of a monkey, garnering over 15,000 likes in two weeks. On September 9th, Instagram[11] user hard.images posted a version of the meme that gained over 139,000 likes in four days (shown below).
