"Odraani gas troopers are somewhat unique. They are highly specialised soldiers to deal with a relatively narrow range of situations. Equipped with a high-pressure chemical thrower they use a large variety of chemicals – ranging from harmless irritants, though corrosive agents to deadly neurotoxins – to deal with foes.

They are most often deployed during boarding or urban combat areas as both ant-fortification and anti-vehicle units, but are also frequently used to deal with hazardous chemical threats.

Because of the nature of the deployment, they are armoured heavier than regular troops, with several backup systems for life support and extra padding.

While their reputation is deadly, they an unpopular role within the military given the risks."
