It's actually kinda interesting to see how 4Kids' attempts at Americanization evolved over time. In Pokemon season 1 they couldn't visually edit the onigiri into donuts so they just had Brock call them "donuts" in the dialogue, but a couple seasons later they were in fact able to edit a giant onigiri into a submarine sandwich.
