Oh, and as an aside, Dunkey has gone out of his way to insult fans of say, Sonic or Xenoblade, calling them "weirdos" multiple times in his videos when, you know, Last of Us Part II has an uncensored sex scene.

Going out of your way to insult people for liking something you don't is where I draw the line, and honestly could lead to your audience beginning to lose trust in you, or leaving entirely.

On one hand, Dunkey knows he's not gonna like every game he plays, and that's fine. On the other hand, when he consistently craps on games in a genre with similar themes, you begin to wonder why this guy keeps burning money on all this stuff. Just to rile fans up?

Remember, this guy will defend Last of Us Part II to his dying breath, and will crap on any Japanese story-based game because they have cheesy voice acting or some other element that doesn't live up to Dunkey's standards.

Part of the reason (I feel) Dunkey loves the Super Mario series or DKC so much is because those games don't really have as prominent of a story as say, Sonic Adventure or most JRPGs, despite the fact that those games still have their fans. This then gets into a domino effect where people like ProJared or Dunkey may have been the reason why SEGA dumbed down stories in 2010s Sonic games, and that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

Bottom line is this: In the grand scheme of things, Dunkey's opinion holds the same amount of weight as any other person who plays and reviews video games. People only hold him to such a high regard because his non-review videos have managed to retain a consistent quality over the years, so of course his fans are gonna believe everything he says.
