Ocarina of Time was originally meant to have a dating sim element to it, inspired by the popularity of Sakura Wars. Link, depending on the player's actions and choices, could have ended up with Zelda, Malon, Ruto, Saria, Nabooru or even Navi! This feature was cut to save development time.
