A classic "Genesis is better than Nintendo" advertisement from EGM #16. Ironically, the cover of this issue is for Super Mario World. Note that of the 9 games being shown, 3 are arcade ports and 3 are sports games. The actual commercial reception of most Genesis games is a mystery, but these were two categories of games that did well on the Genesis. For example, Altered Beast alone sold over a million copies in the USA, and the last confirmed million-seller on Genesis that I can find was NFL '98, released in May 1997. Note that EGM actually reviewed some of the games featured in this ad. Super Monaco GP got a score of 9.5/10, Moonwalker a 7.0/10, and Dynamite Duke got a 5.25/10.

During the height of the console wars of the early 90s, this highly antagonistic Nintendo advertisement appeared in British games magazines of the era. Sega owners would eventually get a version of Street Fighter II, but they had to wait for it.
A 1991 Advertisement comparing the Genesis's lineup to that of the SNES. Although the SNES launched in North America with only 6 games, this number exceeded 30 by the end of 1991. By the end of their lives in North America, the two platforms had slightly over 700 games each released in the region.
Blast Processing was mostly a marketing term made to sell the Sega Genesis. To be fair, the Genesis CPU had a faster Clock Rate than the SNES, so the term could be referring to that, but Sega was never clear about what the term actually meant.
