Gaming - Horror Games then and now

They've literally been transformed into marketable plushies of themselves.

I find it interesting how so many older kids' games (especially from Nintendo) included horror elements without becoming full horror games. They're bright and colorful until they decide horror is needed.

Meanwhile, these recent mascot horror titles try to spread a few creepy ideas across an entire game, and end up being surprisingly devoid of creepy moments.
