Elijah Jamerson, sometimes referred to as Elijah Jameson or Elijah Gamerson, is a high school student from Olathe North High School who went viral on TikTok in October 2023, when he was interviewed by TikToker Braden Hales (@braden.hales). Jameson's answers like "Figuring out the little intricate mechanics of different systems," "Keep worshipping me" and "Let the show go on" went viral as clips and catchphrases online, spreading across social media. Memes, edits and fancams of Elijah Jameson trended on TikTok and Twitter / X in late 2023. Many called him "Elijah Gamerson" because of how he phonetically said his name in the first video. In late October 2023, Jamerson caused a so-called "school shooter scare" at his school because he posted videos to his TikTok account @spiritualpressure00 about something special or important happening at school on Halloween. Jamerson planned to dress up in an elaborate outfit but many of his peers interpreted his "surprise" as an imminent school shooting, along the lines of "Don't come to school tomorrow."

Online History

On October 10th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @braden.hales posted an interview with a student at Olathe North High School named Elijah Jameson. Hales asked Jameson about his interests, extracurricular hobbies and special talents. Jameson gave answers like "Art," "Figuring out the little intricate mechanics of different systems" and also proved that he was flexible by leaning backward and looking at the camera upside-down. Over 15 days, the video received roughly 7.8 million plays and 1 million likes (shown below).

Two days later, on October 12th, 2023, TikToker^[2] @braden.hales posted a second video with Elijah Jameson which gained roughly 22.8 million plays and 3.7 million likes in 13 days (shown below). In the video, Jameson produced more catchphrases with his answers, such as "Keep worshipping me" and "Let the show go on."

Sometime in late October 2023, Elijah Jamerson created his own TikTok^[8] account called @spiritualpressure00 which he later made private after a so-called "school shooter scare."

Fandom

Following the second video of Elijah Jameson, edits and memes using clips from the TikToks gained engagement on the app. For instance, an early viral example was posted by TikToker^[3] @followforfollow._73 on October 12th, 2023, who called the video "cringe," receiving over 529,200 plays and 11,700 likes in 13 days (shown below, left). On October 14th, TikToker^[4] @iteezkrewe posted an edit that gained over 766,600 plays and 129,900 likes in 11 days (shown below, right).

Viral videos based on Jameson continued to surface going into late October 2023. For instance, on October 23rd, 2023, TikToker^[5] @gverdugo_ added text reading, "Hiring manager: 'so why should we hire you?' / Me:" receiving roughly 7.6 million plays and 1.7 million likes in two days (shown below, left). On October 24th, TikToker^[6] @dmark.official added a caption about rizz, gaining roughly 2.2 million plays and 392,500 likes in one day (shown below, right).

By October 25th, 2023, the hashtag #elijahjameson had received over 3.2 million views on TikTok.^[7]

Controversy

School Shooter Scare

In late October 2023, Elijah Jamerson posted a since-deleted video to his TikTok account in which he hinted at a surprise for his classmates around Halloween time. There are currently no known reuploads of the video. However, Jamerson posted another video (also since-deleted) sometime before October 31st, 2023, in which he was crying and talking about how he scared some of his classmates into not coming to school because of the aforementioned "surprise" video. Jamerson stated that his "surprise" was going to be an elaborate Halloween outfit.

Jamerson's video was reposted by others on TikTok soon after, such as one shared by TikToker^[9] @dve09_ on October 30th, 2023, which received roughly 2.2 million plays and 267,900 likes in 15 days (shown below, left).

Fans of his then reacted to Jamerson's apology video, like TikToker^[10] @jehvanaj on November 1st, who condemned whoever made Jamerson cry, gaining roughly 1.2 million plays and 223,700 likes in 13 days (shown below, right).
