Donkey Kong Country Returns contains a multiplayer-only mechanic whereby Diddy Kong can shoot peanuts from his Peanut Popgun while riding on Donkey Kong's back, by shaking Player 2's Wii Remote. While Diddy Kong rides on Donkey Kong's back in single-player mode as well, this action is exclusive to the multiplayer mode. During some of his animations, Thugly opens his mouth. If Diddy shoots a peanut into his mouth during this, Thugly will eat it. This at first appears to be purely cosmetic, as it does not slow Thugly down or change any of his behavior.
