I lost my job during the big layoff that happened this year. They fired me as game dev, despite working for them with crunch times for 8 years. For a bit I was between jobs until buddy of mine contacted me for a "freelance" job of sorts. Officially, they call it "Game promoter" Unofficially, you go around and badmouth games, write negative reviews, start to stir s--- up in order to push people to the rivalling game. In this particular case, Blizzard was apparently afraid that Last Epoch would steal away their players. As unlike Path of Exile, it's simplistic enough to understand and has enough features to compete and even bypass Diablo 4. Here is what we were instructed to do: >In case of a bad launch, which according to the "Lead Promoter" would be expected, flood steam discussions with threads on incompetence of devs and praise diablo for its smooth launch >With provided steam accounts, leave negative review to tank the scores >Flood the steam discussions with social-political nonsense. Most prominently asking for LGBT characters and cosmetics. Then sowing malice through nonsense about developers being bigots. >Badmouth the game inside the game itself and possibly make up issues. >Criticize everywhere the visuals, story and lack of the character creator. LAST EPOCH >Go on youtube and train your accounts algorithm to recommend you Last Epoch videos. If they're not critical of the game, dislike the videos, leave negative comment while praising D4. We were specifically instructed to not sounds like fanboys. Instead slowly shift the discussion and praise towards Diablo 4. Sound genuine and so on. This isn't something that they had us sign an NDA for. This is my small, petty revenge towards them all the while revealing what a s--- company Activision-Blizzard has become.
