Not necessarily just the content farms-- those exist to pump out content that's already appealing to children. The problem is that it's a series about existential dread being given a shiny coat of paint, and unfortunately the shiny coat of paint attracted a bunch of minors and single-digit-age children who don't have the social awareness to shut up about it. Which of course attracts the content farms.
Something similar happened to Friday Night Funkin', especially a few specific mods-- game about trying to get laid but getting cockblocked into rap battles ends up attracting children due to cartoony visuals, who proceed to spam it everywhere and attract content farms to grift them for ad money.
It reaches its peak when it gets to the point that FNF did where the entire community starts being forced to sanitize itself in spite of the source material because "children might be watching!"
