Fernando Ariel Carrera, a 27-year-old Argentine man with no criminal record, was caught up in the tragic Pompeya Massacre on January 25, 2005. Mistaken by the police for a suspect, Carrera was shot in the jaw while driving his car. Incapacitated, he continued driving, accidentally running over and killing three people. After Fernando crashed his car upon losing control from the initial shotgun blast, the police surrounded him and fired more than 20 shots, hitting him with an additional 8 bullets. Despite being innocent, Carrera was sentenced to 30 years in prison for robbery and aggravated homicide. However, after years of struggle and intervention from the Supreme Court, Carrera was finally acquitted on October 25, 2016. His story highlights police and judicial corruption, as well as the fight for justice in Argentina.

Mahangde's first thought was how he would reach the centre which was about 15km away in Pasarni village at the foothills. The road rou- te down the winding Pasarni Ghat would have taken at le- ast half an hour and he did not have the luxury of time. After a dressing down, Yewale ag- reed. He was strapped on to a paraglider and dropped on the grounds of the exam centre. He got there in five minutes and rushed to take his exam.
