All of You, Get Out! Except You, You Stay - Disney Recess Revival, Get Out! Except You Montijo, You Stay

I think this backlash stems from just how sick and tired everyone seems to be of the 'the old heroes are washed-up losers' trope that Hollywood has been so obsessed with since the mid 2010's. It's tired, it's insulting and it's just plain depressing and lame.

I was wondering when this would come up here. I never watched the show all that much, though for some reason I saw the movie in theaters and owned it on VHS, but even I felt offended by this. What the hell they were thinking when they wrote this pitch? It's so out of touch yet so desperate to try to appeal to modern kids, so 'How do you do, fellow kids?', it's just amazingly bad, especially because there's no blaming it on new people who aren't as knowledgeable or just misguidedly trying to update something from their childhoods, this is from the actual creators of the original show.

It's like when Tad Stones praised the Chip and Dale movie, despite it being so disconnected and ignorant of the show. Just how much can be blamed on them trying to keep working at Disney or them having gone crazy from living in California for so long?
