REJECT MODERNITY In Dungeons & Dragons 5.5, the Find Familiar spell summons a spirit that takes the form of an animal, which is called a familiar. The familiar obeys commands, but it can't attack unless the player uses their Reaction on its turn to command it to do so. If the player doesn't give any commands, the familiar will dodge and move to avoid danger. The familiar will disappear if it reaches O Hit Points, if the player dismisses it as a Bonus Action, or if the player dies. When it disappears, it will leave behind anything it was carrying or wearing. If the player casts the spell again, they can choose to summon the same familiar or a different one. EMBRACE TRADITION If separated from the caster, the familiar loses 1 hit point each day, and dies if reduced to O hit points. When the familiar is in physical contact with its wizard, it gains the wizard's saving throws against special attacks. If a special attack would normally cause damage, the familiar suffers no damage if the saving throw is successful and half damage if the saving throw is failed. If the familiar dies, the wizard must successfully roll an immediate system shock check or die. Even if he survives this check, the wizard loses 1 point from his Constitution when the familiar dies. "One false move, wizard, and your familiar gets it!"
