Focal Point stared hazily at her milkshake, wishing the soft, teal-colored flecks would either vanish, or miraculously change into something more befitting of her palate. Apparently, the waitress who had ken her order misheard her. Instead of bringing a chocolate milkshake with a hint of sprinkles, she'd ought a chocolate milkshake with mint sprinkles. The moment the glass had been eased onto the table by the pegasus mare's wing, Focal's nose had scrunched up in disgust. Since then, the table had been left unattended- with Focal doomed to have to glare into the slowly melting mass of cream and foam t sat before her. Focal hated mint. Shckluuuuuurp Focal's shoulders tensed and her eyes squeezed together. She'd briefly forgotten why she'd chosen to tare into her mint-tainted dessert: it was a lot better than paying attention to her partner. Her eyes glanced up, and danced momentarily across his features olden-haired, blue-eyed, and brown-coated, the colt would have blended in well on any farm. Perhaps blended in a bit too well. Focal certainly hadn't noticed him until he'd stood right in front of her, and she'dignored him when he coughed. It wasn't until she felt a gentle nudge her at her breast that she'd looked forward and saw the pony standing before her. Her mind had been in other places lately, but she n't know she'd been that oblivious An apology, a short conversation, and a sweet smile later, both of them were making their way to a nearby sweets shop for a drink. Commissions needed working on, dishes needed doing, and groceries needed bought. I guess I'll see you tonight then!" sed, Focal said, "Wait. What? Why?" The dance silly! It's tonight! We'll have even more time to talk then!" Focal's jaw dropped, her ears fell back, and her eyes watered at just the thought of having to listen to his colt talk even more. Every alarm went off in her head, and she felt the sudden urge to beat her he into the table to make this horrible nightmare go away. Lowering her head, she allowed a single tear to fall out of her eye and to the floor before looking back up at her companion to decline BRAAAAAUUP!! The flavored cloud of gas hit Focal square in the face. Her eyes watered once more, and the receptors i her nose shriveled and died. The colt had burped squarely into her face, and she'd been struck senseless v the rudeness. Not to mention the smell Nothing stung more in all of Equestria in that moment, than the pungency of the double-mint shake he had just been drinkin The colt got up, moved around the table, and trotted off happily Get this for me, would you? I'm afraid I just don't have a bit to my name right now! See you at your house tonight!" Focal heard him open the door and walk back outside. She stared blankly into space until the waitress finally came by and took the glasses from the table. It wasn't until the manager was glaring angrily ov her that she finally snapped-to, paid, and left the shop. Once outside, she stared at the ground as she walked, mind completely blank. She didn't want to think about anything for a little while ce inside, she walked upstairs, laid down in bed, and shuddered and shook until there was absolutely no energy left in her. The smell and taste of mint still hung heavily to her senses
