A little girl that the main characters know very well, is combined with her dog by her father because he does testing like that all the time. But he had a deadline to meet and couldn't think of anything else so he used his remaining family to save his own life (he used his wife years ago to make himself famous). When the main character finds her, all she can say is 'ed…ward' (his name) in a very strange and disturbing voice. It was a very sad moment.
