It's sort of an in-joke in Tumblr where in the movie Frozen, Olaf the Snowman accidentally walks into an icicle. After he noticed, he just says "Oh look, I've been impaled (giggle)" without any pain. It's just funny because of the dark humor in that scene. Now tumblr users just apply it to dramatic situations, like the Spongebob laughs banner.
