While this may simply mean the programmers thought it was a particularly nice boat, there is reason to assume it is related to the September 2007 "Nice Boat" broadcast incident. The "Nice Boat" incident In 2007, the anime School Days was aired in Japan. The day before the final episode, which would have featured a girl committing a violent murder, a similar murder took place in real life (16-year-old girl murdered her father with an axe in Kyoto). The episode was cancelled and stock footage was played for 30 minutes in its place, featuring a boat. The boat, alongside a comment on an imageboard calling it a "nice boat", became a meme in Japan after the incident.
