Have you ever wondered why we learn history in schools? This is why. History is taught to at least attempt to avert ridiculous ignorance of reality like this. Women of nineteenth-century America were prevented from getting a school education because their minds were believed to be too fragile to hold so much information, and prevented from even doing something as simple as driving down the street without a man present. If you are a female living in a developed country in the modern world, you are not fucking oppressed. You're complaining about men glancing in your direction while I can't be out of the closet without businesses having the right to throw me out because of my sexuality. Get over whatever desperate self-victimization complex you have and get back to reality.
