It's Ness's shirt. A simple enough design, right? Just blue and yellow stripes? Yeah, it's almost that simple. But it has a few quirks that have kept consistant through each Ness design yet. Let's look at the original clay model first... Five sleeve stripes, with two clear yellow ones. Eight shirt stripes, counting the tiny yellow one at the end of the curve. Starts on blue, ends on yellow. (note: the shirt curve is also important) Now, let's look at Melee... five stripes. Curve and stripe number is kept Finally, let's look at Brawl, Ness' latest appearence. Five stripes, two clear yellow ones. This time, the blue ones were more evened out. I consider this an improvement, while still keeping the original idea. Wow, eight stripes. Who would've guessed?The tiny yellow one is even retained, but is more proportionate. The shirt curve is also there. NESS What? How could I forget Smash 64? Even in primitive modeling technology, they still got it consistent. This is all very minor, but the attention to such minor details is why l think they wouldn't suddenly stop, especially for their HD installment. Mega Man's poses have been recreated faithfully from the NES titles. Smash Brothers is all about attention to such details. It's fanservice. Speaking of attention to detail.. Ness and Lucas have reversed stripe colors. Lucas' goes yellow/red/yellow/red Ness' goes blue/yellow/blue/yellow They carried it into 3d. Some attention to detail, huh?
