I'm keeping this here for my own sake, although this is troubling. The author of the picture (agouti-rex) runs a rather large podcast for the furry community along with one aurelina. These types of art communities can make for fantastic echo chambers, and have the ability to spill over into other media as well.

Update: Apparently there was a rippling effect from the post, although it quickly moved into PMs. I guess no one wants to touch the issue for fear of being character assassinated (most of these people make money via commissions, so character is extremely important for them to get work).
