What's really interesting to me is that I've seen a lot of members of marginalized groups on #gamergate #notoursheld. People of every ethnicity, disability sexuality, you name it. The most poignant was a trans person who took a picture of all her hormone medication next to a hand-written #notyournseld What's astounding to me is the response from the journalist-slash-social-justice-advocates. Predominately white affluent men (and a few white, affluent women) launching viscous attacks against the very marginalized groups they claim to be (lucratively) crusading for, for the sin of simply saying "your crusade doesn't represent my me or my values." Let me repeat myself. White affluent journalists are attacking and outing minorities who disagree those journalists are pursuing the interests of the groups those minorities are a member There is a word for it when white affluent people enter a new space, and tell the natives they're being oppressed and everything must change for their own good. And when those white affluent people coincidentally profit from the new order, and the natives suffer. That word is: colonialism

X Journalists would make claims of people like Anita Sarkeesian "playing video games all her life" when she openly admitted many times she is not a gamer and only starter recently (when it wasn't for an interview). Various developers trading sex or money for good reviews got exposed, journalists who accepted got exposed. People became a bit more critical about supporting a game just because the developer has a victim complex stating tat their game could have only failed because of sexism, instead of their own poor developing skills. What really sealed the deal was opposition often faking their own harassment. Anita sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn have been caught multiple times screenshotting "harassment" while showing that the harrasser's account name in the login. Or when someone called the police to help Sarkeesian against a "very real threat" she was posting about, only for police to find the harasser's messages were coming from her IP address.
