The Lorax was a children's movie based on the Dr.Seuss book of the same name. It was a pretty mediocre movie in my opinion, but the movie itself wasn't the reason a huge fandom sprung out of nowhere. No, it was because of this ER'S The Once-ler, a character from the film. A fandom came out of nowhere overnight because of this man right here. People collectively fell in love with him. That alone isn't the reason why the Once-ler fandom is remembered with fear, however. The fandom got... .really intense really fast. And the askblogs got weirder and weirder, and all in all it was an experience. I'm not afraid to admit thatl was involved with the fandom early on. So, basically, from what I gathered of this, the once-ler is the example of having only one character, and fangirls trying to ship him for their own romantic fantasies, but since there's only the once-ler, they went absolutely bonkers.

Fandoms are weird. And this is coming form a Sonic fan of all things.
