Peridot seems more like a scientist than a fighter, she only fights because she was mad at the gems for breaking her robots. She was easily overpowered on the ship and decided to escape rather than try to fight back. also she complained about her job on Earth because she thought it would be easy. I could see Peridot as someone who was dragged along on this task mostly for her equipment and wouldn't mind being treated like someone who isnt just good for supplying you with robots.

It really would be kind of interesting to see it happen, especially how the other Gems react to it.

Pearl herself said that Steven reminds her so much of Rose, but she was more than willing to wipe out her own kind to give Earth a chance. To Steven be against it might just strike a few cords with them.
