I don't personally.

Except on Gmod rps, breaking into peoples houses and stealing everything is pretty funny.

But if that don't work, I get a gun(half the rp experience anyways, yes it has more guns than the standard game), and kill everyone for the lulz, and than prop spam, preferably on the spawn point to piss off the server.

Also traitor in terrorist town is pretty fun too, very troll easy.

I do, mainly on MMO's like WoW.

With, "Lemme try this again" as the Thread name, I tought it was going to be one of Russian Fedora's Forum Life Restart Threads.

I personally don't play RPGs. Though I have played Forum Games similar to RPGs.

I remember I once role-played pretending to be a pterodactyl on some forums. People got mad so I stopped.

Aside from Role Playing Games (RPGs) I'm only familiar with 2 other meanings:

1. Where a bored middle-aged couple pretends to be someone else to spice things up.
2. Where a supervisor plays the part of a client with their new trainee as a form of on-the-job training.

What you guys are talking about sounds like sockpuppetting, and no, I'd never do that.

Alt profiles aren't necessary to roleplay, but you certainly could do it.

Doesn't forum roleplay generally have the goal of collaborating on creating a story of sorts? It's like what you do with your boss, except that your boss might be a spaceman dragon fighter. So it would be more like LARPing, but online.

"Sockpuppeting" sounds like an attempt to maniuplate conversation by deceiving other particpants into believing you're somebody else.
