Girl scouts are called brownies

If you'd call someone a "Brownie", it sounds a bit like some sort of political term for some sort of group, like the brown-shirts or something.

Similar to to the term "pinko" and related to a colour as well!

Brownie Scouts are to Girl Scouts as Cub Scouts are to Boy Scouts.

i.e. Brownie Scouts are younger Girl Scouts.
